The Ponderosa Bruins fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They breezed by Nevada Union on the road to the tune of 37-6. For Ponderosa, this counts as revenge for the 40-7 defeat Nevada Union walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.
Bodey Eelkema and Rhyder Eelkema certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Eelkema rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, while Eelkema rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Eelkema was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards. Jake Barefield got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Ponderosa's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Nevada Union, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
Ponderosa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Nevada Union will head out on the road to face off against Kimball at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
