On Thursday Middle College take on Hillcrest at Melrose Stadium at 7:00 PM. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes: the MaxPreps rankings predict a close match.
Middle College have to be aching after a bruising 6-33 defeat to Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering last Friday. Middle College got a solid performance out of sophomore Patrick Richmond, who rushed for 82 yards and 1 touchdown; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win.
As for Hillcrest, Hillcrest had a rough outing against Freedom Prep Academy two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Hillcrest managed a somewhat close 12-8 victory over KIPP Collegiate.
Hillcrest's victory lifted them to 3-4 while Middle College's loss dropped them down to 2-4. We'll find out if Hillcrest can add another positive mark to their record or if Middle College can shake off the loss and take the spring out of Hillcrest's step.
