The Red Rock Central Falcons pushed their score all the way to 63 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Cedar Mountain by a score of 65-63. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Red Rock Central of the 64-51 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2022.
Red Rock Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isaac Simonson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Simonson is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Lang, who scored 19 points along with eight assists.
Red Rock Central has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Cedar Mountain, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Rock Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. As for Cedar Mountain, they will take on the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
