Richland and Enderlin are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Richland Colts will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Enderlin Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Richland came up short against Oakes and fell 53-44. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Richland in their matchups with Oakes: they've now lost four in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Nick Mjoness, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. His trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Casyn Syvertsen, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Enderlin's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 12th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Hankinson, falling 63-35. While losing is never fun, Enderlin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Hankinson is ranked 14th).
Richland's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-9. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Enderlin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
Everything came up roses for Richland against Enderlin in their previous matchup on January 4th as the squad secured a 62-31 victory. Does Richland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Enderlin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
