Menard is 10-0 against Santa Anna since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Menard Yellowjackets on the road again and play against the Santa Anna Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
Menard suffered their biggest loss yet this season two weeks ago. They took a serious blow against Veribest, falling 50-14. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Menard has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Santa Anna scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Paint Rock 64-21 at home. Winning may never get old, but Santa Anna sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
It was another big night for Jacob Jimenez, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Strickland, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Menard's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Santa Anna, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Menard didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Santa Anna in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 46-40 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Santa Anna's Bruce Brown, who scored 19 points. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Menard to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
