If the Copan Hornets were feeling good off their 75-38 takedown of the Foyil Panthers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Copan fell just short of Welch by a score of 42-40. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Copan in their matchups with Welch: they've now lost four in a row.
Welch found their leader in underclassman Dakota Bidwell, who scored 16 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Clinton, who scored six points along with four steals.
Copan has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-6 record this season. As for Welch, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-14.
Copan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Welch, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-21 defeat vs. Wesleyan Christian on the 10th.
