Volleyball Recap: Taft Gets the Win

While Taft didn't have the best season last year (they finished 15-26), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They had just enough and edged out the Seguin Matadors 2-1. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Matadors recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Taft who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 19-25, 25-16.

When it comes to explaining why Seguin lost on Saturday, don't look at Gisele Morales. Despite the final result, she had 26 assists and 13 digs. Morales is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Bella Homan also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Taft's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Seguin, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Coming up, Taft will head out to take on Holmes at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders are facing the Huskies at the right time seeing as the Huskies are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Seguin, they will host Fox Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
