The Kutztown Cougars pushed their score all the way to 61 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 75-61 bruising from Tri-Valley. While losing is never fun, Kutztown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 657th, while Tri-Valley is ranked 83rd).
Noah Porter was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Tri-Valley. Porter continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Caden Leonard, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Kutztown bumped their record down to 3-8 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Tri-Valley, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.
Kutztown on the road again on Tuesday and play against Catasauqua at 6:45 p.m. on January 16th. As for Tri-Valley, they will be playing at home against Weatherly at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
