The Hayden Wildcats fell victim to the Ramsay Rams''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Rams, falling 45-0. While losing is never fun, Hayden can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 238th, while Ramsay is ranked 15th).
Ramsay got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kameron Keenan out in front who threw for 293 yards and two touchdowns on only 18 passes, and also punched in a rushing score. Kristian Stinson was another key contributor, picking up 130 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
This is the second loss in a row for Hayden and nudges their season record down to 2-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-3 Wenonah (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 72.2% over those games). As for Ramsay, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Hayden will look to defend their home field on Friday against Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. Ramsay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
