The Judson Rockets entered their tilt with the San Marcos Rattlers with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Judson came out on top in a nail-biter against San Marcos on Tuesday and snuck past 54-51. Given Judson's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while San Marcos is ranked 128th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
When it comes to explaining why San Marcos lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ezra Tobias. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Melayna Perkins, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds.
Judson is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 28-6 record this season. As for San Marcos, they dropped their record down to 20-11 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Judson will head out on the road to challenge Brandeis at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Brandeis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Friday. San Marcos does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
