Basketball Recap: Goddard's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Goddard had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They walked away with a 42-32 win over the Laguna Acoma Hawks. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rockets also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.

Laguna Acoma's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Mia Smith, who posted nine points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Brianna Carrillo, who scored six points. Smith has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last four times she's played.

Goddard's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Laguna Acoma, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-2.

Goddard wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-48 defeat against Bernalillo on the 13th. As for Laguna Acoma, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-37 win against Moriarty on the 13th.
