After flying high against the Crossroads Christian Academy Crusaders last Monday, the Faith Christian Academy Angels came back down to earth. Faith Christian Academy was beaten by the Warriors 89-52 on Thursday. Faith Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-21.
When it comes to explaining why Faith Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is EJ Peterson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. Peterson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.
Even though they lost, Faith Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. This was only their ninth loss (out of 12 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Eagle's View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marcus Carter led the charge by scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Gary Deleon-Rivera, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Faith Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Eagle's View, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home.
Faith Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Eagle's View will face off against the Warriors at TBD on Tuesday. Covenant School of Jacksonville has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
