After two games on the road, Olentangy is heading back home. They will take on the Marysville Monarchs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, everything went Olentangy's way against New Albany as Olentangy made off with a 48-23 win.
Olentangy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Whitney Stafford out in front who scored 16 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Stafford has scored at least 25% of Olentangy's points. Chayla Rankin was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Marysville had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Hilliard Bradley 50-18 on the road.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Olentangy's win pushed their record up to 2-0, while New Albany's defeat dropped theirs down to 0-2.
Olentangy took a serious blow against Marysville in their previous meeting back in January, falling 53-25. Can Olentangy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
