Meanwhile, Mingo Central put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Mount View 47-0 at home. Given Mingo Central's advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Mount View is ranked 110th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mingo Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chris Ross, who threw for 166 yards and three touchdowns. Amanti Lovett was another key contributor, rushing for 47 yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 8-2.
