There's no place like home for the Windermere Prep Lakers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They strolled past Westminster Christian with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 57-39. Given Windermere Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Westminster Christian is ranked 154th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Windermere Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brandon Bass Jr., who scored 21 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Bass Jr. has scored at least 25% of Windermere Prep's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sinan Huan, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Windermere Prep's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.1 points per game. As for Westminster Christian, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.
Windermere Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Centennial at 5:00 p.m. on January 5th. Centennial will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Westminster Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Heritage at 3:30 p.m. on January 5th.
