After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fort Wayne Canterbury, the Eastside Blazers were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 48-34 victory over Prairie Heights. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Eastside did.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eastside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Loden Johnson, who scored 19 points. Clayton Minnick was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Despite the loss, Prairie Heights saw an underclassman step up: Cade Bachelor scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Stoy, who scored 6 points along with 3 steals.
The victory got Eastside back to even at 2-2. As for Prairie Heights, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Eastside has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Lakewood Park Christian at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully Lakewood Park Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday. As for Prairie Heights, they will head out on the road to face off against South Bend Career Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South Bend Career Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
