Softball Recap: Palmer Wins Going Away Against Redington

Palmer had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Redington on Wednesday. The Moose put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 13-5 win. The Moose might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by eight runs or more this season.

Rylei Doyle was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Aubrie Stocker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Palmer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Redington only posted a batting average of .188.

Palmer now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Redington, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmer will venture away from home to face off against Colony at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Redington, they will be taking part in a tournament against Homer at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
