In what's become a running theme this season, the Chatham Charter Knights gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They blew past Triangle Math & Science 65-30 on the road. Chatham Charter is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 11 straight.
Chatham Charter was led to victory by Meah Brooks and Hannah Headen. Brooks scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Headen scored 23 points along with six assists. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Delana Loflin, who scored seven points along with five assists and two steals.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leanna Nohs, who scored 17 points. That was a full 56.7% of Triangle Math & Science's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Mennatullah Ibrahim was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Chatham Charter pushed their record up to 16-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for Triangle Math & Science, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chatham Charter will face off against Woods Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Triangle Math & Science, Triangle Math & Science and Southern Wake Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Southern Wake Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
