Chesterton was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They fell  51-40 to the Merrillville Pirates. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in January of 2024.
 Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Isabelle Connors, who  posted nine points and six  rebounds. Another player making a difference was  Kenedi Bradley, who  went 7 of 12  on her way to 19  points.
Chesterton's record now sits at 10-7. As for Merrillville, they pushed their record up to 9-6 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  on the road.
 Chesterton will challenge Hobart at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Merrillville, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  58-47  win against Westville on the 11th.
