Liberty Preparatory Christian has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Community School of Davidson Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Liberty Preparatory Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Community School of Davidson will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, Liberty Preparatory Christian strolled past Providence Classical with points to spare, taking the game 60-46.
Liberty Preparatory Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Braxton Turner led the charge by scoring 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Caden Ward was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Community School of Davidson pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 68-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Corvian Community. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Community School of Davidson came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while Corvian Community is ranked 330th).
Liberty Preparatory Christian has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Community School of Davidson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
