Nyack hasn't had much luck against Rye recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Red Hawks will head out to square off against the Garnets at 7:00 p.m. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 956 yards in their previous games.
Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Nyack turned things around against Fox Lane on Friday. They walked away with a 27-20 victory over the Foxes. The Red Hawks pushed the score to 27-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Foxes cut but never quite recovered from.

Devin Bierfeldt was his usual excellent self, throwing for 288 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 96 yards and one TD on only nine carries. 126 of Bierfeldt's passing yards were hauled in by Aidan Swann, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Nyack didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Dominick Moran, Connor McGrogan, and Julian Silverman picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Rye made easy work of Eastchester on Friday and carried off a 48-23 win. The victory continues a trend for the Garnets in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.
Nyack better keep an eye on Carson Miller. He was instrumental in Rye's win, throwing for 321 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 14.6 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 81 yards on only seven carries. Thanks to that big game, Miller is now up to 19 passing touchdowns on the season. Henry Shoemaker also helped out as he racked up 145 receiving yards.
Rye's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Nyack, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4.
Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Bierfeldt and Miller. Bierfeldt just won't slow down this season and has thrown 7 touchdowns while averaging 136.7 passing yards per game. Miller has been a dominant force too and has thrown 19 touchdowns while averaging 258.5 passing yards per game.
Nyack might still be hurting after the 39-13 loss they got from Rye when the teams last played back in September of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Red Hawks were down 26-0.
