The Van Vleck Leopards will head out on the road to challenge the East Bernard Brahmas at 6:00 p.m. Van Vleck is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Last Tuesday, Van Vleck earned a 43-36 victory over the Panthers. Given Van Vleck's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 527th, while the Panthers are ranked 1216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
In what's become a running theme this season, East Bernard gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 54-14 win over Brazos. The victory made it back-to-back wins for East Bernard.
It was another big night for Avery Scott, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ashlynn Lemos, who scored 11 points along with six steals.
Van Vleck has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for East Bernard, their win bumped their record up to 16-12.
Van Vleck came out on top in a nail-biter against the Brahmas in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 63-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Van Vleck since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
