Concordia had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt Tipton on Monday. The Fighting Orioles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 14-0 shutout. The Fighting Orioles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by six runs or more this season.

Olivia Hemme was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Karleigh Wilckens was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kynleigh Abney, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Concordia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tipton only posted an OBP of .176.

Concordia pushed their record up to 20-4 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Tipton, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.

Coming up, Concordia will take on Warsaw at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their 18th straight win, something the Fighting Orioles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tipton, they will face off against Crest Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
