Football Game Preview: Vandegrift Vipers vs. Summer Creek Bulldogs

Two dominant signal callers in Miles Teodecki and Blake Thomas are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Vandegrift Vipers will square off against the Summer Creek Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Vandegrift comes in on 12 and Summer Creek on four.

Vandegrift is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 47-14 victory over Harlan. The Vipers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by 25 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Teodecki, who threw for 259 yards and five touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes, and also rushed for 36 yards. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards. Brendan Fournier also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Vandegrift didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Hollister Stephens, Ian Witt, and Matthew Draeken picked up one apiece. Stephens has been hot, having also posted six or more total tackles the last five times he's played.

Meanwhile, Summer Creek was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past Kingwood 51-7. The Bulldogs is also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the 12 game they've won by 20+ points or more this season.

Summer Creek's win came from a few key players Vandegrift will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jamicah Jones, who picked up 127 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Another passer making a difference was Thomas, who threw for 235 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.2% of his passes.

Summer Creek is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 44.9 points. As for Vandegrift, their record now sits at 13-1.
