Given Our Lady of the Lake Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Cougar are ranked 692nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, New Buffalo was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past the Mustangs 58-31 on the road.
New Buffalo found their leader in underclassman Lucas Forker, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was James Shaw, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Our Lady of the Lake Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for New Buffalo, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
