Largo took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gaither. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Largo still got an impressive performance from Jeremy Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 23 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Thomas scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Garrison, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Gaither was led to victory by Rico Kindred and Jayce Humphries. Kindred scored 18 points, while Humphries scored 21 points. Dante Sanchez was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Largo's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Gaither, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Largo will face off against St. Petersburg at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Petersburg will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for Gaither, they will head out on the road to take on Jefferson at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Jefferson is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
