The Fossil Ridge Sabercats were the 57-33 winner over the Mountain View Mountain Lions when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Fossil Ridge took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mountain View on Friday.
Several Sabercats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carmen Arkin, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds. Maddie Kubat was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Mountain View's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Meghan Keil, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Keil has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Addison Branscum, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Fossil Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Mountain View, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Fossil Ridge and Poudre will face off at 11:00 a.m. on December 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Poudre focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday. Mountain View won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Rocky Mountain at 1:00 p.m. on December 9th. Rocky Mountain is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
