Basketball Recap: Angola Extends Winning Streak to Three

Angola extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Bailey Holman. The Angola Hornets managed a 47-43 win over the Concord Minutemen on Wednesday thanks in part to Holman, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in November of 2023.

Concord's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shelby Emerick, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Shiloh Smith, who posted ten points along with five boards and three steals.

The victory got Angola back to even at 5-5. As for Concord, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Angola didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 70-44 win against Lakeland on the 19th. Concord will take on Mishawaka in a holiday battle at at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Concord is facing Mishawaka at the right time seeing as Mishawaka is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
