The Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes and the Dillard Panthers will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pompano Beach will be strutting in after a win while Dillard will be coming in after a loss.
Pompano Beach has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They came out on top against McArthur by a score of 61-49 on Friday.
Jonathan Berwig was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerrick Wiggins, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Dillard was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 51-47 to Taravella.
Pompano Beach's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Dillard, they bumped their record down to 2-3 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Pompano Beach might still be hurting after the 84-59 loss they got from Dillard in their previous matchup back in January of 2015. Can Pompano Beach avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
