After a string of four wins, the Reed-Custer Comets's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a hard 52-35 fall against Peotone. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Reed-Custer in their matchups with Peotone: they've now lost seven in a row.
Several Comets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaylee Tribble, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Madison Keenan was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Reed-Custer's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-5. As for Peotone, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reed-Custer will stay at home for another game and welcome Somonauk/Leland at 6:45 p.m. on December 14th. Peotone will be home for the holidays to greet Bishop McNamara at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Bishop McNamara presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Peotone in Illinois (Bishop McNamara is ranked 47th, while Peotone is ranked 175th).
