The Lee Generals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 58-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of John Battle. Lee has struggled against John Battle recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Lee had strong showings from Kinley Huff, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds, and Cassidy Hammonds, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Hammonds scored a full 31.9% of Lee's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Savanna Parsons was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Lee has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for John Battle, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.
Lee will head out on the road to face off against Hancock County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hancock County is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. John Battle won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Virginia High at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th.
