Mercer is a perfect 7-0 against Farrell since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Steelers at 4:15 p.m. Mercer is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Mercer's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Monday's struggle, when Wilmington hitters got past them. The Mustangs took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greyhounds on Monday.

Emma Stoepfel and Adison Foster did some serious damage despite the final result: Stoepfel scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances, while Foster scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Farrell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Reynolds, falling 16-4.

Madalynn Harrison made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last nine games she's played dating back to last season.

Mercer's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Farrell, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mercer has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Farrell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Mercer took their victory against Farrell in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 17-4 score. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Steelers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
