The Flagstaff Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Prescott Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Flagstaff will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Prescott is ranked 30th).
Last Wednesday, Flagstaff came up short against Coconino and fell 55-44. Flagstaff has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Prescott waltzed into their contest on Thursday with 12 straight wins but they left with 13. They blew past Coronado 75-41 on the road. Prescott has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.
Uriah Tenette continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 35 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Tenette is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 21 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zane Gaul, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Flagstaff now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Prescott, they pushed their record up to 22-3 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road.
Flagstaff was taken down by Prescott 78-35 in their previous meeting last Monday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Tenette, who scored 40 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Now that Flagstaff knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
