The Wayne Blue Devils will take on the North Bend Central Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you nail five more threes than your opponent, a fact Wayne proved on Saturday. They strolled past Laurel-Concord-Coleridge with points to spare, taking the game 53-38.
Wayne relied on the efforts of Caiden Backer, who scored 14 points along with two steals, and Gavin Redden, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Redden is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Jorgensen, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, North Bend Central didn't have too much trouble with Scotus on the road on Tuesday as they won 52-33.
Wayne is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for North Bend Central, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Wayne beat North Bend Central 53-41 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Will Wayne repeat their success, or does North Bend Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
