Football Recap: Sasakwa Skates Past Maysville with Ease

Sasakwa hadn't done well against Maysville recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Vikings simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Warriors 40-6. Considering the Vikings have won five contests by more than 29 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Sasakwa's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Darius Henderson led the charge by rushing for 26 yards and one score, while also catching one touchdown. Another signal caller making a difference was Thaddeus Harjo, who threw for 52 yards and a pair of TDs.

Sasakwa pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.3 points over those games. As for Maysville, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Sasakwa will take on Graham/Dustin at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Vikings will be up against the RiverHawk's rather soft defense (which has allowed 46.86 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Maysville, they will challenge Maud at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
