The Stuart W. Cramer Storm's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 68-39 loss at the hands of Kings Mountain. While losing is never fun, Stuart W. Cramer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 389th, while Kings Mountain is ranked 67th).
Several Storm players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makhi Brown, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Gavin Jordan, who scored five points along with two steals.
Kings Mountain found their leader in underclassman Bradley Floyd, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. Floyd is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Caleb Nixon was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Stuart W. Cramer has been struggling recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Kings Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
Stuart W. Cramer will be playing at home against North Gaston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Gaston is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Kings Mountain, they will head out on the road to challenge Ashbrook at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ashbrook will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
