The Grove City Greyhounds pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 67-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dublin Coffman. Grove City lost against Dublin Coffman in their previous head to head back in March of 2017, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 54-46 score last time.
Grove City's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kraig Gilbert, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Gallagher, who scored 13 points.
Grove City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Dublin Coffman, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Grove City will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Canal Winchester at 7:30 p.m. As for Dublin Coffman, they will head out on the road to face off against Westerville South at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westerville South presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dublin Coffman in Ohio (Westerville South is ranked 103rd, while Dublin Coffman is ranked 274th).
