Garinger has not had much luck with Charlotte Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Garinger saw an underclassman step up: Misa Garris scored 21 points. That was a full 70% of Garinger's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Providence had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Rocky River with a sharp 53-29 victory on Friday. Providence pushed the score to 46-16 by the end of the third, a deficit Rocky River cut but never quite recovered from.
Garinger has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Providence, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
Garinger was dealt a bruising 60-30 defeat at the hands of Providence in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Providence's Delanie Hill, who went 7 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 2 assists.
