After flying high against the Hemphill Hornets last Friday, the Huntington Red Devils came back down to earth. Huntington took a 55-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Timberwolves. Huntington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Timberwolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
It was another big night for Jaziel Reyes, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds for Pineywoods Community Academy. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke Shepherd, who scored 15 points.
Huntington's loss dropped their record down to 9-20. As for Pineywoods Community Academy, their win bumped their record up to 11-17.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Huntington will challenge the Lumberjacks at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Diboll focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. As for Pineywoods Community Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
