5A Region III District 19 recap September 10, 2013
Cinco Ranch moved up to 66 from 161 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 5A Region III District 19. The Cougars were able to make move up by beating Cy-Ridge 49-26.
Mayde Creek and Cypress Lakes played the closest game in the league this week, with Mayde Creek eventually emerging with a 13-10 victory.
Cinco Ranch's dynamic duo of Luke Klingler and Sam Straughan proved to be unstoppable against the Rams, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Klingler threw for 284 yards and 3 touchdowns and Straughan had 96 yards receiving.
Don Clayton's team's dynamic duo of Klingler and Straughan proved tough for Cy-Ridge to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Rodney Anderson was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 122 yards on 12 carries as Katy beat Gary Thiebaud's team. Kyle Porter also contributed to the rushing game with 69 yards on the ground.

Straughan was the best wideout in 5A Region III District 19 this week as the Cougars bested Cy-Ridge.
Strake Jesuit's 6-foot-1 quarterback Colby Chapman is the league leader in passing yards this season with 243. The leading receiver in the league this season is Anderson. The Katy star has 5 catches for 112 yards.
The Tigers took down Alief Taylor 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Anderson caught 2 passes for 75 yards during the win.
