The Sheridan Hills Christian Sharks lost to the Don Soffer Aventura Barracuda back in January, but the Sheridan Hills Christian Sharks didn't allow the Don Soffer Aventura Barracuda the same satisfaction on Monday. Sheridan Hills Christian secured a 31-27 W over Don Soffer Aventura. The win made it back-to-back wins for Sheridan Hills Christian.
Sheridan Hills Christian found their leader in underclassman Elizabeth Spee, who dropped a triple-double on ten points, 15 rebounds, and ten steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Melissa Gonzalez- Ortiz, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and seven steals.
Despite the loss, Don Soffer Aventura still got an impressive performance from Liana Kozko, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Kozko scored a full 55.6% of Don Soffer Aventura's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Allana Lloyd, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Don Soffer Aventura were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Sheridan Hills Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Don Soffer Aventura, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Avant Garde Academy the next time they take the court. Don Soffer Aventura will head out to face Avant Garde Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Sheridan Hills Christian will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
