The Thackerville Wildcats will be playing at home against the Copan Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Thackerville waltzed into Friday's match with seven straight wins but they left with eight. Everything went their way against Graham/Dustin as Thackerville made off with a 52-32 win. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Even though Copan has not done well against Oaks-Mission recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Copan simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Oaks-Mission 72-40 at home. The win was just what Copan needed coming off of a 66-16 defeat in their prior match.
Copan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Weston O?Rourke led the charge by rushing for 126 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, while also catching a touchdown. Teegan Caron was another key contributor, gaining 133 total yards and two touchdowns.
Thackerville's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Copan, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
