When it comes to explaining why Northern Durham lost, one person who can't be blamed is Joy Brown. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a triple-double on 34 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brown has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Victoria Holden, who scored six points along with six steals and five assists.
Northern Durham dropped their record down to 2-14 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.1 points per game. As for Halifax County, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Northern Durham won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Hillside at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Northern Durham has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Halifax County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Magna Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Magna Vista will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Halifax County surely won't give up without a fight.
