Basketball Recap: Glencoe's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Glencoe can finally bid farewell to their 20-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They managed a 67-63 victory over the Beaverton Beavers. The Crimson Tide's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Glencoe to victory were Andrew Darrington and Terrence Townsend. Darrington dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards, while Townsend posted 22 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brett Lee, who had eight points.

Glencoe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Glencoe's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Beaverton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Glencoe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-40 defeat against Benson Tech on the 14th. As for Beaverton, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Tigard at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beaverton knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Tigard likes a good challenge.
