Basketball Recap: Cloudcroft Takes a Loss

After flying high against Non Varsity Opponent on Saturday, Cloudcroft came back down to earth. The Bears were outmatched by the Tularosa Wildcats and fell 75-30. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 13th).

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacob Dodson, who posted ten points. Dodson has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Silas Moon, who put up seven points and six boards.

Cloudcroft dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Tularosa, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Cloudcroft has already played their next contest, a 62-27 win against Animas on the 11th. As for Tularosa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 76-41 victory against McCurdy on the 11th.
