The Pinson Valley Indians will square off against the Douglas Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Douglas took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Pinson Valley, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Pinson Valley turned things around against Midfield on Monday. They never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. The Indians' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Aaron Brown was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Brown was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He has become a key player for Pinson Valley: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-11 otherwise.

In other pitching news, Marcelo Gabarron looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
Back at the plate, Jaylon Sharpe was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Pinson Valley is 2-1 when Sharpe posts two or more stolen bases, but 0-11 otherwise. Jamison Green was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-3.
Pinson Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .862. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Douglas' good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They came up short against St. Clair County, falling 10-4.
Pinson Valley's win bumped their record up to 2-12. As for Douglas, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Pinson Valley couldn't quite finish off Douglas when the teams last played back in March of 2024 and fell 9-7. Can Pinson Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
