The Marquez Gladiators won the last time they faced the Maywood CES Wolfpack, and things went their way on Monday too. Marquez took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 64-24 victory over Maywood CES. With Marquez ahead 36-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Marquez got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elyjah Staples out in front who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The game was Staples' third in a row with at least ten points. Julian Nunez was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Marquez and bumps their season record up to 10-5. As for Maywood CES, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Marquez will be playing in front of their home fans against Sierra Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Aaron Buna and Lamont White Jr. As for Maywood CES, they will head out on the road to face off against Elizabeth at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
