The Hooper Academy Colts had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 62-41 margin over Sparta Academy. The result was nothing new for Hooper Academy, who have now won four matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Despite the defeat, Sparta Academy saw an underclassman step up: Murfee Williams scored nine points along with five rebounds and four blocks. Williams continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jud Robinson, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Hooper Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Sparta Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Hooper Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cornerstone Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th.
