Basketball Recap: Anabella Portillo Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Canutillo

Clint's game on Tuesday was all tied up 15-15 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 28-23 victory over the Canutillo Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 43-31 back in November.

Clint's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Anabella Portillo, who posted eight points and five steals. Portillo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Davana Carrasco was another key player, putting up eight points and 12 rebounds.

Clint has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Canutillo, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 8-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Clint Lions take on the Fabens Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Fabens' defense has only allowed 24.5 points per game this season, so Clint's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Canutillo, they will head out to take on Andress at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
