Holbrook hasn't had much luck against Blue Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Roadrunners will face off against the Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. Holbrook is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
On Saturday, Holbrook made easy work of Monument Valley and carried off a 17-2 win. The Roadrunners haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Hayden Eisele looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ty Larson was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Holbrook is undefeated when Larson posts two or more runs, but 5-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Eisele, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Holbrook was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Blue Ridge got themselves on the board against Round Valley on Thursday, but Round Valley never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Elks. The Yellow Jackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by eight runs or more this season.
Not much got past Kaden Edgington, who gave up just six hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Round Valley off the board.
On the hitting side, Justin Carpenter was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
Blue Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Holbrook, their record now sits at 8-10.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Holbrook hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334. However, it's not like Blue Ridge struggles in that department as they've averaged .326. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Holbrook might still be hurting after the 14-2 loss they got from Blue Ridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Roadrunners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
